Updating Group Plans

MuckRock Users can be part of many groups or Organizations. And each organization may have a paid or premium subscription.

Select the organization you want to adjust from the left hand column and look for the “Edit Plans and Payment” link. There, you will be able to add resource blocks to your plan, add a new credit card and update the list of email addresses that we send receipts to.

Troubleshooting

Which Organization?

MuckRock Users can be part of many groups or Organizations. And each organization may have a paid or premium subscription. In some cases cross-newsroom collaborations are set up as separate organizations

If you’re not sure which organization the subscription is under, Look for the “View Receipts” option. This will show receipts for any payments made by you or by an organization you administer.

If you do not see any receipts, or you do not see the organization listed, you may not have the permissions necessary to manage payments and cards on file.

Who is the admin?

If you are looking at the profile for your organization and don’t see any receipts listed, and you don’t have a button to “Upgrade” or a link to “Edit Plans and Payment” you don’t have permission to make payments on behalf of this organization.

You’ll need to reach out to one of the Admins listed at the top of the member list — they’ll all say “Admin” next to their name.

We also show you the primary email address for every admin, which can be handy if the Admin is not a frequent MuckRock user and isn’t sure which address to log in with.

None of these admins work here anymore!

If the Admins listed for your organization have moved on and you need help troubleshooting, please check your email settings to confirm that your work email is associated with your account, and verified. (It doesn’t need to be your “Primary” address, but you do need to verify it.)

Then send a note to [email protected] explaining the situation. It helps if you can give us as much information as possible, including the full names of the old Administrators, and your role in the newsroom or organization.
